I've been following (i.e reading) the guardian's coverage of the Euros very happily and have noticed a great bit in the days column. It lists one thing happening, such as todays was Van Basten preparing his team for penalties just in case, and lists another, funnier one which is in a parallel world where England qualified. It says today that McClaren prepares his team for penalty shootout loss to Turkey. However this also brought up intriguing questions for me. Would England have done well in this competition, would they have done as well as Croatia have and would they have beaten Austria!

Your thoughts.

I think what we've seen so far is that England clearly

weren't

good enough to reach this competition. I can't see them getting many points at all, unless they were in the same group as Austria or Switzerland, but then again you could probably say that about most countries.
